Knowledge and innovation based economy development: Government of Andhra Pradesh launched
Knowledge Mission - a step taken to create a good academic eco-system, to improve the quality of education, invest in faculty development and hence developing each university into a knowledge centre. The International Institute of Digital Technologies (IIDT) is established at Tirupati, to preempt the increasing gap in skill sets as the new digital economy grows.

Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) is establishing a university to promote entrepreneurship and National Centre of Excellence for Startups at Amaravati. Krea University that promises interwoven learning and preparedness for the 21st century is being setup in Sri City in collaboration with eminent academicians and corporate leaders with an investment of ₹750 crore. Corporate leaders such as Anand Mahindra and JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal are in the governing council. “Krea will bring great global and Indian minds together to create an institution of global prominence,” Anand Mahindra

Andhra Pradesh, historically known as Rice Bowl of India, is also setting up an innovation center in Agriculture sector, the sector which achieved highest growth rate in agriculture and allied sectors.

Amaravati to spread culture of innovation: Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, has been chosen by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for its platinum award on the basis of the parameters including eco-vision, energy and infrastructure management, ICT and innovation in city planning. From cloud-connected rapid transit systems to energy-efficient buildings and the innovative features like Swanky Aesthetics, Green and Blue Happy City and Thematic Regions can not only help Amaravati become a world-class capital, they may well set the benchmark for India’s smart cities project.

Andhra Pradesh’ strength in innovation will continue to grow, and the state is poised to have more positive influence on global innovation in the coming years. Government is concentrating on enhancing the framework conditions for innovation, such as the business environment, access to labs, policy support, human resource development and promoting entrepreneurial culture in the state.
