3 lakh houses handed over to beneficiaries across the state


3 lakh subsidized houses were handed over to the 3,00,346 families across all districts in Andhra Pradesh under the NTR Housing Scheme. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the house warming ceremonies remotely from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.

The A.P government had previously handed over 1 lakh units to the beneficiaries on October 2, 2017 and plans deliver 2 lakhs units on October 2, 2018, with an aim to complete 19 lakh houses by March 2019. The housing beneficiaries include 57,296 SCs, 24,332 STs, 1,43,005 BCs and 75,713 from other castes.

“Beneficiaries invested Rs.2.5 lakh towards the cost and received a State subsidy of Rs.1.50 lakh in villages and Rs.2.50 lakh in cities. The Central subsidy was Rs.1.50 lakh”, said the Chief Minister.
